Dr. Patenaude is a lecturer in forest and carbon management in the Department of GeoSciences at the University of Edinburgh. Her research interest is in the political and operational implementation of international forestry regimes (incl. REDD+).

She has contributed to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Good Practice Guidance for Land Use, Land Use, Change and Forestry.
